November 6th-17th at Casco Bay Arena
Casco Bay Arena will be hosting our 3rd annual pre-season training camp for high school boys from November 6-17, 2017. This intensive program is a great opportunity for players to get in “hockey shape” and prepare for the high school season and varsity tryouts. Shaun Stairs is running the program again, and will be assisted by Kristin Andrews, the preeminent power skating coach in Maine, and former professional player and longtime coach, Kent Hulst. We are adding some goalie-specific training provided by longtime goalie coach, Fred Quistgard. Shaun is a CB alum and current U18 midget travel coach who played at Merrimack College. Kristin will work with small groups during the sessions to focus on skating mechanics and skills.
During the first 60 minutes of each session, we will work on power skating and skill development. The last 60 minutes will consist of small area games and scrimmages.
There is a limit of 24 skaters and 3 goalies per session. The roster filled up quickly last season, and we had a waiting list. This roster limit will not be increased. The cost is $250 per skater & $150 per goaltender (12 hours of ice with professional instruction). All players must be registered with USA Hockey for the 2017-18 season.
Group I will skate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:20-5:20 pm.
Group II will skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20-5:20 pm and on Fridays from 5:30-7:40 pm
If a player has a conflict due to their fall sports team reaching the State finals, they may opt out of the first week and will only be charged $125 ($75 for goalies) for the second week of sessions. Those players will be charged full rate, and then credited ½ back once the conflict issue is known.
Each Player must register first with USA Hockey for 2017-18 and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2017-2018 Season.
