2019 Boys Pre-Season High School Clinic

Welcome

2019 Boys Pre-Season High School Clinic

November 4th-15th at Casco Bay Arena

The 5th annual pre-season training camp for high school boys at CBA will have a fresh, new format and coaching staff.  The clinic will take place from November 4-15, 2019.  This intensive program is a great opportunity for players to get in “hockey shape” and ready themselves for the high school season and varsity tryouts.  We are excited to announce that Kent Hulst will be running the clinic, assisted by Dan Hodge, and Elite Hockey goaltending coach, Brett Barrett.  Kent Hulst is a Canadian native selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 4th round in 1986.  He played for the Portland Pirates for 8 years, was inducted into the Pirates Hall of Fame in 2002, and remains the Pirates’ career points leader.  Kent has a wealth of coaching experience since retiring from professional hockey, including stints with NYA and Casco Bay Hockey midget travel teams.  Dan Hodge will be working alongside Kent with skills and conditioning drills to get the players season-ready.  Dan was a 4-year defenseman at Merrimack College, a Boston Bruins draft pick, and enjoyed a 10-year pro playing career.  He is now the Head Instructor for Hodge Hockey and PV Hockey with 30 years of coaching experience from mites to pros.  Brett Barrett will provide goalie-specific training.  Brett is the Elite Hockey Head Goaltending Consultant, with 25 years of coaching experience working with USA Hockey youth teams and local high school hockey programs.

During the first 60 minutes of each session, we will work on power skating and skill development, and goalie-specific training.  The last 60 minutes will consist of small area games and scrimmages.

There is a limit of 24 skaters and 4 goalies per session.  The roster filled up quickly the last 2 seasons, and we had a waiting list.  This roster limit will not be increased.  The cost is $280 per skater & $140 per goaltender (12 hours of ice with professional instruction).  All players must be registered with USA Hockey for the 2019-20 season.

Group I will skate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:20-5:20 pm.

Group II will skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20-5:20 pm and on Fridays from 5:30-7:40 pm

If a player has a conflict due to their fall sports team reaching the State finals, they may opt out of the first week and will only be charged $140.00 ($70 for goalies) for the second week of sessions.  Those players will be charged full rate, and then credited ½ back once the conflict issue is known.
